I've been underwater the past several months finishing a batch of projects and getting gears turning on others, but I wanted to take a moment to share a recent delivery. I just received a galley of BREAK OUT, my hardcover about the making of over a dozen Apple II games, due out in September.
Even though publishers send complementary copies of finished books close to release, early proofs are special to authors. They're the first copies of our books, and often the first tangible proof that months--if not years--of long, hard work will exist in a form other than bits and bytes on our hard drives. (Or USB drives, or Jaz drives, or floppy disks, or however you roll.)
